The next step is to create your Regex Tables in GTM using the Regex patterns that you created in the previous Regex Section. Please make a note of the Regex Variable Names you create because they will be used within your Snippet.
- Go to Google Tag Manager and Click Tags. You should confirm that you see your Dynamic Site Tag created in the previous Dynamic Site Tag Section. If you do not see the tag, please return the previous section to deploy your Dynamic Site Tag in GTM.
Confirm Dynamic Site Tag in GTM
- Next, click Variables on the left, and the click New in the User-Defined Variable section.
Create new User-defined Variable
- Add your variable name at top (ex. tier1 categories), click pencil to edit, and choose RegEx Table from the variable type list
Create Regex Table
- Select Input Variable: {{Page URL}} from the drop-down menu and click the Add Row Button
- Begin entering the Regex Expressions for each row you already have in the Regex tables you previously prepared and tested.
We will use the Tier1 Categories tables example, that we created in the previous section, and copy the Expression Patterns and Output Name to each row in GTM.
Tier1 Categories Regex Table
- After you finish adding all the rows, check the "Set Default Value" box and type in "Other Pages" for the Default Value. This will bucket all other traffic to the Section Name of "Other Pages" in the Resonate Platform.
- Click the Save button.
Continue to add New Regex Tables until you have entered all the Regex Variable tables that you previously defined and that will be called in your snippet. (In our example, we would need another Regex Table for tier2 pages.)
