A Two-Step Matching Process
Before you begin onboarding your CRM data into Resonate for insights via LiveRamp, you first need to understand the match rates associated with this process. Onboarding via LiveRamp involves a two-step matching process:
- Matching offline customer records to online LiveRamp IDs
- Matching online LiveRamp IDs to online Resonate IDs
At each step, you should expect some scale loss. On average, we find that LiveRamp matches files at 60% and the overlap between those matched files and Resonate's IDs are 10-20%.
What Affects Match Rates?
There are multiple variables that affect the loss of scale in this process.
When matching offline customer file to LiveRamp IDs:
- The quality of onboarded data
- You'll get the best matching results if the file includes name, phone number, and mailing address
When matching online LiveRamp IDs to Resonate IDs:
- The connection between LiveRamp's IDs and Resonate's ID
- If there isn't a connection, the ID is not matched
- The quality of onboarded data
- Resonate's models are based on the highest quality of user records
- If the onboarded file is stale or old, the match rates will be low, as Resonate only looks back 90 days to ensure data freshness.
- Modeled Resonate IDs
- Users must have modeled Resonate IDs to contribute to insights
- Resonate's stringent thresholds for projecting insights
This is the reason why we require a minimum of 100,000 records for this project. A large enough number of onboarded records will ensure that your onboarding project is successful.
