How do I create a new Audience from an existing one with "Save As?"

Let's say you want to copy an audience of Male Millennials and swap the Male attribute value for Female, so you have a new Female Millennials audience.

You can do this two ways:

1. Using "Save as" to create a new audience
2. Cloning an audience 

Using "Save as" to create a new audience

Navigate to the Your Saved Audiences page and find the audience based on which you want to create your new audience.

Click on the ellipsis button and select Edit Audience Definition from the drop-down.

Click on the attribute you want to swap out. In our example, you'll click the Gender attribute. This will automatically pull up the associated attribute values, allowing you to quickly change your audience definition.

Now remove the Male attribute value and add Female. Resonate will give you a warning that you have unsaved changes.

Click on the down caret by the Save button, then click Save As a New Audience.

Give your newly created audience a name.

That's it! See how quick that was? 

Cloning an Audience

Navigate to the Your Saved Audiences page by clicking on the list icon, then selecting Audiences.

On the Your Saved Audiences page, find the Audience you'd like to clone and click on the ellipsis icon (...) on its tile. Select Clone from the drop-down.

Name your new, copied Audience.

Once saved, you'll see your newly copied/cloned Audience on top of your saved audiences list.  Now you'll need to update the audience definition of the cloned audience. To do this, click on the ellipsis icon (...), then click Edit Audience Definition.

This will bring you to the Audience Builder in the Segmentation Center where you can see and edit the components of the audience. If you simply need to swap the value of an attribute, you can click on the attribute name in the Audience Size and Definition panel on the right. This will display all available attribute values in the middle panel, allowing you to quickly swap out attribute values.

For instance, if you want to swap the Gender from Male to Female in your Male Millennials audience, you can click on Gender in the right-hand panel and, consequently, all Gender attribute values will appear in the middle, making it easy to change Male to Female.

In this case, we'll remove Male and add Female.

You can change any of the other attributes. Once you're done making changes, be sure to Save the audience.

If needed, you can further update the audience name. Click on the pencil icon by the audience's name to do this.
