How do I deploy an Impression or Click Tag or send traffic to Tags?

Once you've created your tag, you then need to deploy/place/traffic the tag.

Use the copy code action to copy the tag code to your clipboard.

Trafficking Impression Tags

The Resonate Analytics impression pixel should be placed within the creative code of the ad unit itself

• If using an adserver template or creative UI, the Resonate Analytics impression pixel can be treated as a third party tracking pixel and inserted accordingly
• If using custom creative code the Resonate Analytics impression pixel should be placed below the code
• Resonate tags default to the industry standard SSL secure protocol. After creating the tag, you can change it to Non-Secure

Trafficking Click Tags

The Resonate Analytics click tracking redirect needs to be placed within the click tracking path of the ad unit

• If using hard creative assets such as a static image or flash file, the click tracking redirect should be place in front of the click-through url. No space should exist between the click tracker and the url.
• If using a third party tags the click tracking redirect should be placed in front of the local adserver’s click-tracking token. The Resonate Analytics click tracker should always be the first click tracking redirect taken in by the ad tag.
• Always test the final ad unit to ensure it clicks through to the final url. The addition of an Resonate Analytics click tracking redirect may require additional encoding of the local adserver’s click tracking token. Consult with the adserver’s trafficking documentation to verify proper click-tracking procedure.

Adding Click Redirect to X (fka Twitter)

• Replace the [click_URL] parameter in the Resonate click redirect with the landing page URL before inserting into X (fka Twitter)
• Resonate recommends shortening the amended Resonate click redirect + URL using a tool such as https://bitly.com/

• If using analytics tracking strings on the landing page URL, the landing page URL with the strings must be encoded before being appended to the Resonate click redirect. A free encoding tool can be found at https://meyerweb.com/eric/tools/dencoder/

Trafficking Site Analytics Tags

• The Resonate Analytics conversion and custom tag should be placed directly on the page or within a tag container on the web page where the desired action will occur (Preferably within the head of the page)
• All Resonate Analytics tags can be configured to take in custom variables. Please contact your Resonate Account Manager to develop the desired variables.
• Replace the [RANDOM_NUMBER] term with a site generated random number or container tag cache busting macro. (optional)
