Resonate Look-Alike Models (LAM) help you scale campaigns by expanding top-performing audiences to reach high-potential prospects. By slicing first-party, tag, and engaged audiences with Resonate Elements, you can quickly build precise, scalable, and effective look-alike segments—turning your strongest insights into activation in just a few steps.
How-to steps:
Once you chose an audience to activate, you will navigate to the page below. At the top of the page, you’ll see your Estimated Targetable Number—this is the estimated number of IDs that are targetable for your seed audience, or the foundation of your Look-Alike Model.
Next, choose your partner platform, your start and end dates, and pick your delivery method.
For audiences that include first party data, there are two delivery options:
- Select Retargeting when you only want to deliver to people in your 1st party or tag data audience.
- Look-Aalike Modeling is a better choice if you're looking to expand your reach and target people similar to your selected seed audience comprised of of 1st party, tag or engaged audience data. This feature allows clients to slice these audiences with Resonate Elements and look-alike model them for more precise, scalable, and effective activation. This model considers the aggregate behavioral footprint of users that match your seed audience and ranks them in order of similarity.
Activating via Look-Alike Modeling helps you scale your 1st party audiences by finding more people who look like your best customers. Resonate's Look-Alike Model allows you to select between 3 delivery strategies.
- Optimize: Finds people who most closely resemble your seed, whether or not they’re in it. This is our recommended option if you are looking to optimize your return on ad spend.
- Include seed audience: Keeps the original seed audience in the activated group. This option allows you to drive more revenue across both your current customer base and new prospects.
- Exclude seed audience: Excludes the seed audience entirely and only finds new Look-Alikes, which is useful if you already have a separate marketing strategy for current customers, and you want to focus on new customer acquisition.

- Analyze & Iterate OR Activate Now
We recommend Analyze & Iterate. This builds a Look-Alike Model for your unique seed audience and emails you when your Precision Analysis Chart is ready. You can click through the email to view the precision chart. Note: It will not distribute the audience for activation initially.
The precision analysis chart shows how your look-alike audience shifts as it grows—because the bigger the audience, the less precisely it matches your seed. The chart lets you fine-tune the sweet spot between scale and precision before activating and thus maximize the return on ad spend.
