Story Canvas - Streamline Your Workflow from Start to Finish

Resonate’s dynamic report-builder, Story Canvas, makes it easier than ever to let your data tell a story. Story Canvas helps increase efficiency and drive growth by providing users with a streamlined approach to custom reporting, scalable insight deliverables, and seamless export capabilities.

Instead of spending hours manually formatting various charts and reports, you can now dynamically craft a customized audience story directly within the Ignite Platform in minutes! With faster data discovery and a complete understanding of any audience, you can make smarter, data-driven.

To jump start your workflow and save time creating deliverables, leverage one of several use case templates: Audience Insights & Strategy, vertical-specific Creative & Messaging Strategy to build a Creative Brief, Media Planning Strategy, or industry-specific Competitive Analysis. These curated use case templates make putting together a deliverable even faster and can help you discover insights in a matter of minutes. With faster data discovery and a complete understanding of any audience, you can make smarter, data-driven decisions, and export it into PowerPoint to disseminate the strategy. 

1.  Access use case templates directly from your dashboard with the Story Canvas shortcut. You can select your use case, your audiences, and then jump straight into Story Canvas to discover your curated Story. For more information on Use Case Templates, click here.

2. You can also create your own personalized Story Canvas by clipping key insights and visualizations and adding them to your Story. 

2a. Choose or create your audience(s) using any data type. 

2b. Analyze your audience(s) in the Intelligence Center using the Bar Chart or Curated Reports (Audience Introduction, Personal Values, Demographics, Brand Affinity, Media Planning, Media Consumption Report, and if subscribed to Politics & Advocacy data – the Political Drivers Report & Political Elections Report).

3. You can clip insights from either the curated reports, Analytics Bar Chart, or AI Insights report.  

• Option 1: Select the scissor icon at the top of a Bar Chart to add the whole chart or select the scissors from any of the insights in your bar chart. You can add as many or as little as you like.
• Option 2: Select the scissor icon in Curated Reports.
• Option 3: Select the scissors in your AI Insights report.

4. Your selected insights will be added to your Story Canvas in the order they were clipped. A popover will appear over each chapter, offering a variety of functionalities.

• Add an overall title and high level description to your Story Canvas.
• Add annotations including a title and description to your chapter.
• Reorder the chapters within your Story Canvas.
• Adjust the percent composition and index thresholds for your Insights.
• Hide specific insights that are not relevant to your narrative. When you hide an insight it will not export in your Story Canvas.
•  Remove a chapter from your Story Canvas.
• Within your AI Insights report clipping, you have the option to hide an entire category or insights within the category, just like you can with other clipped insights. In addition, you can also change the text generated by AI in both a specific category card section or the executive summary. You'll notice that once you manipulate the AI generated text in the card category section, the three star icon next to the category name will be removed to represent the text has been altered. 

5. Save your Story Canvas to use and edit in the future! With all of your favorite attributes saved within a Story Canvas, you can use it as a template and swap in different audiences to save time re-creating the same analyses.

6. You can easily export your Story as a PowerPoint file with annotations and Insight visualizations or as chapter folders of individual visualizations as pngs to use outside of the Resonate Ignite Platform. You can format your Story further in PowerPoint and apply your brand specific backgrounds and colors.
