Why is Resonate using Snowflake to help fulfill the Resonate Append product? What are the benefits of sharing data via Snowflake?
Snowflake is one of the most widely used cloud-based data warehousing platform that enables efficient and secure sharing of data among different organizations. Some of the advantages of using Snowflake for data sharing include:
- Scalability: Snowflake is a cloud-native platform that allows users to easily scale up or down their data sharing capacity as needed, without the need for additional hardware or software.
- Secure Data Sharing: Snowflake provides various data sharing features to ensure that the data is shared securely. It uses secure data exchange protocols and implements a variety of security controls such as role-based access control, data masking, and data encryption to ensure data privacy.
- Real-time Data Sharing: Snowflake enables real-time data sharing between different organizations, allowing teams to collaborate and make decisions based on the latest data.
- Cost-effective: Snowflake's pay-per-use pricing model makes it cost-effective for businesses of all sizes to share data without having to invest in expensive hardware or software.
- Efficient Data Sharing: Snowflake's built-in features and capabilities for data sharing make it easy for users to share and collaborate on data without the need for complex integrations or middleware.
- Data Governance: Snowflake provides a centralized platform for data governance and compliance, enabling users to monitor and control access to data, maintain data quality, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
How do you share data in Snowflake? What is the difference between Data Sharing and Data clean room in Snowflake?
Data sharing and Data clean room are two different concepts when it comes to sharing your data in Snowflake.
Data sharing refers to the ability to share data among different Snowflake accounts within the same organization or with external organizations. It allows organizations to securely share data without the need for data duplication or ETL processes. With data sharing, data can be shared in real-time, which enables users to have up-to-date data without the need for complex data pipelines.
A clean room lets two parties match data without either party seeing the other’s raw data. Resonate’s Clean Room is a Snowflake Native App that runs inside your Snowflake account. Your data stays in your account, and Resonate’s underlying dataset stays hidden from you. See Resonate Enrichment On-Demand Snowflake Clean Room.
What type of sharing does Resonate’s standard Resonate Append via Snowflake use?
Resonate uses Data sharing as the default option to process Append Requests.
What region is Resonate’s Snowflake account in?
Resonate has a Snowflake account in each of 10 commercial US regions on AWS, Azure, and GCP. You share data with the Resonate account in your region. See Supported Snowflake regions in Resonate Append File Transfer – Snowflake Setup and Delivery for the account locator for your region.
My Snowflake account is not in AWS us-east-1. Can I still use Snowflake delivery?
Yes, if your account is in one of the 10 supported US regions. You keep your current account and share with the Resonate account locator for your region.
