Consumer privacy legislation is continuously evolving and Resonate is actively monitoring these developments to ensure our customer experience will remain strong and our products will deliver competition-crushing value to our clients.
How does Resonate stay on top of the latest privacy legislation changes?
Resonate works with Venable LLP as our privacy counsel to help guide and consult us on the changing laws. They are well educated on our data methodology and product set and offer expert advice and guidance as new laws emerge. Venable provides support in the development of policies and reviews meaningful product updates to ensure full compliance. Resonate is also a member of the DAA and ANA and has access to their content and related webinars where we can monitor major trends and perspectives on these laws within our industry.
How is Resonate preparing for VCDPA and CPRA?
Resonate has done an early review of both VCDPA and CPRA (an amendment to CCPA) with our outside privacy counsel, Venable LLC. The law’s implementation details, and compliance obligations are not fully defined, so there may be further changes before the implementation of this law is effective in January 2023. We expect the final language of the laws to be finalized in early 2022. Resonate is closely monitoring these developments and we are full prepared to be compliant by the proper deadlines.
How do these laws affect Resonate’s products?
The new regulations typically cover Resonates obligation to the consumer regarding the collection and handling of their data. These new obligations center around types of data collected, how that data is stored, various optout choices, and sensitive data governance. Accommodating these regulations will require Resonate to develop or modify internal services, but we expect no material impact to our product offering. Details of the legislation are being defined but given historical trends and what has been included in the initial legislation, Resonate has clear picture path forward and will monitor the final language coming out of these bills.
