In August of 2020, we are enabling State via our observed geography data for our Politics & Advocacy clients.
Why are we enabling State via observed geography data?
We're enabling State to save you time when building audiences. We've become aware of use cases where folks were having to add every Congressional District in a state to be able to analyze audiences by state.
Reminder, there are three types of Geography data for our P&A clients. Check out our Geography client training module for P&A clients as well as this help article about when to use which data type.
Where is State via observed geography data located?
Go to Segmentation center, in the Additional Data section, click on Geography - Geography - Local Markets - State.
How does this save you time and make audience building more efficient?
Here's one example: if you wanted to build an audience with an attribute from one of our Recent Events Flash Study waves, and combine it with State (from Resonate Elements) you can't. You'd get an error like the one below.
As a workaround to this problem, clients were adding every single Congressional District in a state via our observed geography data (found in Additional Data). This could add up to 20-30 minutes for each audience you build!
By us turning on State via observed geography data for our P&A clients, this allows you to combine attributes from our Recent Events Flash Study waves with State data.
