A: It can take between 15 minutes to an hour depending on the audience size.
Q: Does every unique audience I build in Resonate generate its own file?
A: Yes, you will receive one file for each audience you activate in Resonate.
Q: What is the format of the mobile advertiser ID file when downloaded from the Resonate platform?A .txt file is downloaded in a zip file for targeting. You simply need to openA: or unzip the folder to access the .txt file.
Q: On which social platforms can we use Resonate’s mobile advertiser ID file?
A: The mobile advertiser ID file downloaded from Resonate is accepted in Meta, Snapchat, Pinterest, LinkedIn, X (fka Twitter), TikTok, and Reddit.
Q: Does the .txt file that is downloaded need to be reformatted to upload into the various social platforms?
A: Some platforms may require that the file be broken out based on record minimums or reformatted based on specific requirements. We recommend following the instructions published for each platform.
Q: Does the mobile advertiser ID file refresh automatically in the social platforms?
A: No, it does not refresh automatically. For your file to refresh, you must restart delivery of the file in the Resonate platform and download a new file of mobile advertiser IDs to re-upload to the social platform. Mobile Ad ID files should be refreshed and uploaded once every 30 days to maintain the latest audience targeting.
Q: What are the match rates for mobile advertiser IDs in social platforms?
A: Match rate will differ between platforms as each will take its own approach based on the type of data it manages.
Q: Are the files geo-targeted?
A: No, these are national files that will need to be geo-targeted in the social platform.
Q: Can we build look-a-like models on these audiences in Meta?
A: Yes.
Q: Can we share these audiences amongst Meta Business Suites accounts?
A: Yes.
Q: Do these files contain Personally Identifiable Information?
A: No. The files you download from Resonate only contain mobile advertiser IDs, which are not considered PII as they can be deleted or reset on a mobile device.
Q: Are the files hashed?
A: No. The files are not hashed, but the social platforms handle the hashing upon upload.
Q: What types of mobile devices are included in the Resonate mobile advertiser ID file?
A: Resonate’s file includes Apple IDFA and Google Android AAID identifiers.
Q: Does the file include upper case, lower case, or mixed upper- and lower-case identifiers for Apple IDFA and Google Android AAID?
A: Resonate’s files use all lower case identifiers.
Q: How does the billing process work?
A: Resonate’s Accounting Team will reach out to you at the beginning of every month to collect your impression usage for the prior month. We ask that you report the total amount of impressions served against a Resonate segment or segments during that month across all relevant campaigns. We will then invoice on a monthly cadence for data usage.
Q: Does Resonate data comply with the advertising policies of these social platforms?
A: Resonate has contractual terms in place to ensure proper compliance and representations of the source and acceptable use of this data and its compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and industry guidelines. Resonate insights are created and curated in-house through proprietary, anonymous and consumer-friendly methods. Our survey respondents are double opt-in participants and are anonymously processed with data consumer behavioral insights. Resonate provides our customers with the raw data to target on their social campaigns as they see fit with their campaign KPIs. The advertiser must comply with all of applicable Advertising Policies.
Q: Can I use Resonate insights to measure my social campaign?
A: No, however, you can use the Resonate insights pixel on any campaign that clicks out to an external landing page. Resonate cannot currently measure within the walls of social networks.
Q: Is the cost for Resonate data visible in the social platforms when I set up my campaign?
A: No, the cost for Resonate’s data will need to be added into your overall budget for the campaign manually. We do not have a direct integration with the social platforms, so you will want to keep in mind the additional data cost when planning campaign impressions and spend.
Q: Do you need visibility or access into my accounts?
A: No, Resonate does not need access to any of your accounts. We simply just send you a file to upload and you are good to go!
Q: Are there other methods available for delivery to social platforms outside of using Mobile Ad ID files?
A: Yes. We can distribute your audiences via LiveRamp to your endpoint of choice. This process can take between 1-5 business days.
Q: Can I activate Resonate audiences to LinkedIn via LiveRamp?
A: Yes, to activate on LinkedIn via LiveRamp, you can follow LiveRamp’s instructions to setup the OAuth Connection here. You can use your personal email or business email, as long as it's tied to the account that you will be delivering ads from.
