Fill Rate vs. Match Rate

Fill rate refers to the amount of data that can be fulfilled by a data provider against a customer’s file, such as a CRM file. Fill rate may also be known as data coverage or data density.

Match rate is the number of records in a customer’s file that matches the provider’s ID space.  For example, a match rate of 80% would mean 80% of your IDs matched Resonate IDs.

Resonate provides a 100% fill rate for every matched record. This means that if a record matches a Resonate ID, 100% of the requested attributes are appended to that record.

At Resonate we understand the importance of individual level predictions & the role it plays in enriching customer’s file. Let’s dive into how we achieve this.

Step 1: Direct Match First

Our process begins with a direct match attempt. We prioritize matching customer-provided online identifiers that are hashed emails (HEMs) or mobile advertising IDs (MAIDs), directly to the corresponding records in our ID graph. For example, if a customer provided hashed emails (HEMs), we would match that HEM directly to the exact HEM found in our ID graph.

Step 2: Address or ZIP11 Matching

When direct matching isn’t possible (e.g., due to missing online identifiers), we turn to address-based matching. We leverage the Address or ZIP11 information associated with the record.

Here’s how it works: We analyze the address details/ZIP11 provided by the customer. By comparing these details to our database, we identify the most relevant individual prediction associated with that address. Once we’ve successfully matched an individual using address-based methods, we ensure that the requested predictions are included in the output file.

Clear Documentation on Output File

Transparency matters. Our append output files generated during the matching process clearly indicates the ID used for matching. This documentation ensures that our clients have visibility into the decision-making process and can validate the accuracy of the results.

As mentioned above, Resonate provides a 100% fill rate for every matched record. So, no matter what method was used to to get those predictions, we will provide 100% fill rate to anything matched.
